Job Summary

#CA-DS The Procurement Analyst 4 is a lead role supporting UCD Health's expanding pharmacy and clinical operations through centralized procurement of essential medications and supplies. This position ensures procurement accuracy, system integrity, and compliance with federal regulations, including the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA), across all pharmacy and clinic locations. As a senior team member, the incumbent also helps support and lead Procurement Analyst 3 staff, supporting consistent, compliant, and efficient procurement practices across the health system. The incumbent must be highly skilled in performing strong analysis using various tools, problem solving, tracking issues resolution, and communicating with stakeholders across business units. The incumbent works independently and proactively with decision-making responsibility under the general direction of Pharmacy Leadership. Performance is measured in terms of meeting specific goals and objectives. . Bachelor's degree in related area, or equivalent experience/training Four (4) years working experience in pharmacy purchasing and operations. Ability to operate computer systems. Thorough knowledge of standard procurement procedures and comprehensive knowledge of equipment/technical/medical/supplies, equipment, and services. Demonstrated strong communication skills, utilizing both oral and written skills to effect action in a diplomatic manner. Advanced knowledge of pharmacy purchasing, contracts management, operations, and accepted Business practices. Working knowledge of and demonstrated ability to perform vendor and contracts management and analysis. Working knowledge of and the demonstrated ability to perform the procurement function using an automated purchasing system as well as other computerized systems and computer-generated data. Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs. Preferred Qualifications California Licensed Pharmacy Technician Ability to foresee problems and develop ways of solving them with the least negative impact on the department. Demonstrated ability to act independently and proactively. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and complete projects on time. Ability to work under heavy pressure and produce accurate, detailed work. Conceptual grasp of the legal and social obligations of the University relative to campus and system wide policy. Capability to prepare and maintain fully documented procurement/project files which reflect a thorough knowledge of established policies and procedures to meet University requirements. Demonstrated knowledge of Business subjects, such as Purchasing, Business Law, Economics, and Accounting, in addition to analytical skills and the demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge to the assigned tasks. Knowledge of all federal, state and local government regulations pertaining to a variety of University and UCDH operations. The Department of Pharmacy is a dynamic, integral, and critical part of patient care provided by UC Davis Health. As a department of greater than 600 professional, technical, and administrative support personnel, we focus on providing patient-centered medication management that optimizes outcomes through practice, education, research, and leadership through the continuum of care. We also have the largest pharmacy residency program in the country with 46 total residents in 13 different programs.

The Department of Pharmacy offers comprehensive pharmaceutical services (unit dose, IV admixtures, clinical services, infusion pumps, and teaching) throughout the health system complex 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The pharmacy services encompass inpatient pharmacy services as well as an expansive footprint in the ambulatory care space where we have clinical pharmacists embedded within our clinics and specialty care locations. Our operational teams support the health system enterprise with three inpatient pharmacies, five outpatient pharmacies, two infusion pharmacies, a home infusion service line, and the full complement of pharmacy purchasing, stores, and distribution. Department Specific Job Scope Operating as a lead member of the pharmacy procurement team, the incumbent provides leadership, guidance, and training to Procurement Analyst 3 staff, while promoting standardized, compliant, and efficient procurement workflows across the health system. The role requires advanced analytical skills to assess procurement trends, resolve supply chain issues, and improve purchasing operations through data-driven decision-making.

The incumbent works independently and proactively, exercising sound judgment under the general direction of Pharmacy Leadership. Success in this role is measured by the ability to meet departmental goals related to medication availability, regulatory compliance, cost-effectiveness, and operational efficiency across a growing network of pharmacy and clinical sites.
