Job Summary

Milwaukee Public Schools is actively recruiting licensed and experienced candidates for Physical Education and Health teaching positions. A Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) teacher provides an instructional program for regular and special education students which is appropriate to their educational needs and developmental level. The educational program is offered in an equitable, multi-cultural setting and teaches all children to think deeply, critically and creatively. The teacher's work supports the MPS strategic plan. Openings (school placements) for the 2025-26 school year are subject to change and available placements will be shared at time of interview and/or offer.

Qualifications

Applicants must be licensed by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction to teach the respective specific grade level and/or content area. Eligible applicants must apply during the application window and include: EXTERNAL CANDIDATES EXTERNAL fully licensed teachers, counselors, or librarians Student or permit teachers, practicum students, and interns who

will be

fully licensed Permit or intern teachers in need of another 1-year license with stipulations for 2025-26 Bachelor degreed individuals pursuing a teaching/counseling/librarian position and licensure

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

The salary range starts at $54,386.11 and increases according to the set salary schedule based on education beyond the required bachelor's degree and previous years of fully-licensed K-12 teaching experience.
