Overview

Software Engineer at Mu-Del Electronics LLC is a position focused on developing automated testing software via Python for testing and tuning of precision electronic devices, per part specific specification documentation and test procedures of millimeter-wave active/passive components/sub-systems covering a wide frequency spectrum from DC to 40 GHz.

Location: On-site at Manassas, Virginia facility.

Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Must be able to pass background screening; Green Card holders or US Citizens only.

Responsibilities

• Develop automated testing software via Python for testing and tuning of precision electronic devices, following part-specific specifications and test procedures.
• Communicate with various test equipment and devices via Ethernet, USB and SNMPv3.
• Troubleshoot and read block diagrams; collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Communicate testing issues and results; manage, track, and execute multiple priorities within schedule requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related technical or scientific fields
• 0 – 5 years of experience
• Strong foundational knowledge in Python development
• Understanding or development of embedded software a plus
• Willingness to learn and become an effective team member
• Experience with transferring data between Microsoft Excel and Word
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and responsibility in a team environment
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills; exceptional time management skills
• Effective communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening; strong interpersonal skills

Desired Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with the systems engineering life cycle
• Previous hands-on experience through coursework or internships
• Previous hands-on coding experience with Python
• Automated testing experience in a manufacturing environment
