Knack Works, a subsidiary of Jacobs, focuses on scalable, automated solutions for the intelligence community, including the Knack Stack for automation and cloud infrastructure. Our on-site team in Northern Virginia emphasizes collaboration and innovation.
The base salary range stated is provided for reference; actual pay will be based on skills, experience, and recruiter discussion.
Onsite employees are expected to attend a Jacobs workplace on a full-time basis, as required by the role.
This position will be open for at least 3 days.
Responsibilities
- Interface with microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Collaborate on cloud (AWS, Azure, or others) and on‑prem solutions.
- Design, build, test, and deploy within cloud technologies and on‑prem environments using DevOps techniques.
- Apply knowledge of software engineering and best practices for the full software development lifecycle.
- Participate in code reviews, source control management, build processes, and testing.
- Mentor less experienced software engineers and proactively identify automation opportunities.
- Experience with open source and cloud-native applications; knowledge of relational databases and storage fundamentals.
- DevOps experience, including version control, automated builds, automated testing, and CI with tools such as GitLab.
Qualifications
- Must work onsite in Chantilly, VA.
- U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Experience with cloud technologies and DevOps (AWS) with strong Kubernetes experience.
- Solid experience with GO (or similar language), proficient in Python and Java.
- Ability to interface with microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with cloud (AWS, Azure, or others) and on‑prem solutions.
- Ability to collaborate with engineers to design and implement features; mentor others.
- Self-starter with strong analytical abilities.
Salary and Benefits
The posted salary range for this position is $135,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually. Individual pay within the range is determined by location and factors such as skills, experience, and training.
