Job Summary
This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of a variety of low-complexity mechanical, electronic, and electromechanical medical devices and patient support and transport equipment, after appropriate training.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program Completion of the American River College Biomedical Technician Program or an accredited national program of equivalent standing. Minimum of four to six months of work experience in biomedical work or a biomedical internship in a hospital or field service environment is required. Mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic skills, including the ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics, perform electrical, electromechanical, and mechanical assembly and repair. General knowledge of medical equipment (Clinical Engineering staff will train on specific model equipment) Ability to communicate with staff and vendors regarding equipment issues with both verbal and written communication methods.

Department Overview
The Clinical Engineering Department provides a wide scope of services, including: medical equipment planning, pre-purchase product evaluation, integration with IT systems, installation, and repair and maintenance services to the UC Davis Health (UCDH), including its primary care network (PCN) clinics, and Shriners Hospital for Children, Northern California. In addition to repair and maintenance on most medical devices, we also provide services to the following specialty areas: medical imaging, radiation therapy, respiratory therapy, dialysis, anesthesiology, operating room, IT integration with medical devices, and ICU equipment.
