Job Overview:
- Oversee daily operations at construction sites to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and on-site personnel to maintain workflow and schedule.
- Act as the primary point of contact between field operations and project management teams.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Manage site documentation and reporting for ongoing projects.
- Direct all jobsite personnel and subcontractors to complete tasks in compliance with specifications, plans, contract documents, and building codes with efficiency and quality.
- Ensure the project schedule is followed and updated for subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion.
- Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.
- Review all shop drawings and submittals to ensure they accurately reflect plans and specifications.
- Communicate with project team regarding RFI's, and Material Submittals.
- Direct all jobsite personnel and subcontractors to complete tasks in compliance with specifications, plans, contract documents, and codes with efficiency and quality.
- Perform QA/QC assessments regarding all work being performed to better anticipate and solve problems before they delay construction.
- Manage the permit and inspection process.
- Update and maintain as-built plans throughout the project.
- Coordinate final certificate of occupancy inspections and job closeout.
- Enforce all OSHA regulations/requirements and maintain jobsite safety and daily recordkeeping.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory construction role.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Proficient in project scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Procore).
- Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- High school diploma or GED.
- OSHA 30-Hour Training Certification a plus
- Continuing education or trade certifications a plus.
- 3-5 years of construction experience as a tradesman prior to becoming a supervisor.
- At least 5-10 years of experience as a project superintendent with scheduling experience.
- Proficiency reading architectural, structural, and MEP construction drawings.
- Ability to interact with corporate office through Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, MS Project, and Outlook, knowledge of Bluebeam and Procore a plus.
- Ability to create a detailed 3-week schedule without assistance from the PM.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills required.
- Must be able to manage labor costs in the field, manage subcontractors to complete construction and punch list work in a timely manner.
- Ground up experience in commercial buildings, aerospace, education, entertainment, and medical a plus.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Skilled in time management and conflict resolution.
- Ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Work in varying weather conditions and outdoor environments.
- Interpret technical drawings and construction documents accurately.
- Coordinate multiple trades and phases of construction simultaneously.
- Make informed decisions quickly under pressure.
- OSHA 30 Certification (preferred).
- First Aid/CPR Certification (preferred).
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Full-time, on-site position with occasional weekend or evening work.
- Work in active construction zones with varying noise and weather conditions.
- Regular travel to local job sites as required.
- May involve extended hours during peak project phases.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory on-site.
