Staff Accountant

Position Overview

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the finance and accounting department by performing daily accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions as needed.
  • Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation and lease schedules.
  • Enter and reconcile weekly labor and material posting to job schedule.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of accounting experience
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
