Schedule: Monday-Friday, fully onsite (8am-5pm)

Pay: $30/hr

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, proactive, and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to partner closely with and support our Director of People & Talent. This is a high-impact, hands-on role for a talented HR professional with 3–5 years of experience and a passion for people, operational excellence, compliance, and delivering an exceptional employee experience.

As HR Generalist, you will manage bi-monthly and hourly payroll processing, administer our 401(k) plan, and support benefits administration—including open enrollment and employee inquiries. You’ll also oversee our Applicant Tracking System (Greenhouse), post jobs, review resumes, conduct initial screens, coordinate interviews, and assist with onboarding and offboarding. Additionally, you’ll contribute to performance reviews, employee engagement activities, events, programs, and more.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Payroll & Benefits Administration

  • Process bi-monthly exempt and bi-weekly non-exempt payroll accurately and on time
  • Administer 401(k) plan contributions and related activities
  • Support benefits administration, including open enrollment, benefits inquiries, enrollments, and status changes

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Manage the ATS (Greenhouse), including job postings and candidate pipeline management
  • Review resumes, conduct initial screening calls, and coordinate interviews with candidates and hiring managers
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire paperwork, system setup, exit documentation, and system updates
  • Deliver onboarding presentations and distribute enrollment materials; determine eligibility

Employee Lifecycle & Engagement

  • Assist with performance review processes and tracking
  • Contribute to employee events and engagement initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture
  • Provide day-to-day support to employees and managers on HR-related questions and needs

General HR Support

  • Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS database, ensuring accuracy and integrity
  • Support HR compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to company policies and employment laws
  • Assist with other HR projects and initiatives as needed
  • Provide daily and backup support to the receptionist (e.g., greeting visitors, answering calls, assisting with front-desk and office coordination duties)

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field required
  • 3–5 years of HR experience, ideally in a Generalist role within a fast-paced environment
  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience overseeing payroll processing (exempt and non-exempt)
  • 2–3 years of benefits administration experience
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Excel, Greenhouse ATS (or similar platforms), and HRIS/Payroll systems
  • General understanding of HR best practices and California employment laws
  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build trust across all levels
