South Florida’s beacon of hospitality, Pier Sixty-Six Resort in Fort Lauderdale is reopening as a luxury resort with 325 guest rooms, suites, villas, 12 restaurants and lounges, a spa, and a waterfront promenade. The resort will assemble over 600 team members to deliver memorable experiences, with a focus on welfare and wellbeing. We currently have an opportunity for a well-rounded and seasoned Barista/Cashier to join our Pier Sixty-Six Resort opening team.

Responsibilities

  • Craft and serve high-quality espresso-based beverages, ensuring consistency and excellence in every cup.
  • Provide personalized service to guests, take orders diligently, and offer recommendations based on preferences.
  • Prepare a variety of specialty coffee drinks, including lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos, and seasonal offerings.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including coffee machines and serving areas, in accordance with health and safety standards.
  • Uphold beverage quality and presentation, adhering to established recipes and techniques.
  • Assist in inventory management, stocking and replenishing coffee beans, syrups, and supplies as needed.
  • Maintain the grab-and-go marketplace offerings.
  • Collaborate with other food and beverage team members to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate passion for coffee and commitment to excellence, aligning with the luxury resort’s brand values.
  • Deliver exceptional service and create memorable moments through genuine hospitality.
  • Notify Supervisors of any product shortages or out-of-stock items.
  • Record all transactions accurately in the InfoGenesis system at time of order.
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and beverage.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, and glassware throughout the day.
  • Complete closing duties, including restocking to par levels and turning off lights.
  • Present accurate checks to guests and process payments.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; welcome guests according to resort standards.
  • Anticipate and address guests’ service needs; communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues to reach common goals.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Show appreciation to guests and perform other reasonable duties as requested by Supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivated individual.
  • Ability to speak, comprehend, read, and write English; effective communication skills.
  • Ability to implement and uphold service standards; ability to prioritize and organize work.
  • Ability to interact with all associates and guests; work well under pressure.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods.

Experience, Education, & Licensure

  • High School Diploma or GED recommended; some college experience or degree recommended.
  • TIPS certification or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Current Food Handlers card.
  • Previous barista experience in a professional setting is preferred.
