Overview
This is a maintenance/mechanic role with AgState focused on maintaining, repairing, and replacing machine tools, special purpose machines, industrial robots, machine metal workpieces, and rolling stock to specification on a production basis. This opportunity emphasizes working with agriculture, providing excellent customer service to producers, and a team atmosphere committed to safety and strong benefits.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Schedule maintenance on all equipment, from oil changes to engine overhauls, and perform the work to the equipment.
- Perform basic carpentry work in buildings and help with general building maintenance.
- Inspect and measure machined workpieces to verify conformance to specifications and make any necessary adjustments.
- Replace worn machine accessories such as cutting tools or brushes.
- Continually update knowledge on equipment.
- Lift workpiece manually or using hoist and secure workpiece in fixture or loads automatic feeding device. Start machine, engage feed, observe operation for problems.
- Clean, file, sand, or shape machines parts.
MECHANIC
EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED plus additional specialized vocational training, with one to two years related experience.
- Current valid Iowa driver\'s license and CDL-B.
- Must be able to operate various types of equipment safely, such as hand tools, power tools, hydraulic jacks, air jacks, oxygen/acetylene cutting torch, welding equipment, forklift, chain hoist and pressure washer.
