Overview
THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION
This position is in the Excepted Service under the authority of Title V, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA). It is part of the IN 122nd Fighter Wing, Indiana National Guard under Position Description Number PD# T5906P01.

Duties
- Manages the assigned IT/communications environment with privileged access at the network level for the Wing, Geographically Separated Units (GSU), and Tenants.
- Provides customer technical assistance and support for all users.
- Conducts feasibility studies to identify and analyze system failures and analyzes data to determine if trends exist which forecast the need for future replacement or modification of system hardware and software.
- Coordinates frequency needs with command level spectrum management office to maintain current allocations and obtain new authorizations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Conditions of employment

- Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
- Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- May be required to travel by car, in military and/or commercial aircraft, and by other means of transportation as appropriate to perform temporary duty assignments.
- THIS POSITION CONDUCTS INFORMATION ASSURANCE FUNCTIONS. THE INCUMBENT SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE CERTIFICATION PROGRAM AND WILL BE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN CERTIFICATION.
- This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.
Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, and/or training that provides basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles to automate a work process. Examples include computer operator/assistant, computer sales, program analyst, or similar roles requiring use of computer programs and systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Includes experience planning actions, coordinating with others outside the organizational unit, and developing project controls; adapting guidelines to meet assignment needs; preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies.

Superior Qualifications and Special Needs Pay-setting Authority may be considered. This must be approved prior to appointment.
