Job Summary

Mesa Community College is seeking a skilled and motivated Plumber to join our outstanding Facilities team. This position performs plumbing work, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of water, sewer, and related systems across two campuses.

Essential Functions

70% - Completes work orders for various plumbing repairs in classrooms, offices, labs, common areas, and exterior buildings. 10% - Assists Plumber Sr. in conducting plumbing systems inspections and record keeping. 10% - Operates and maintains various plumbing tools and equipment for the plumbing shop. 5% - Assists Plumber Sr. in gathering quotes from vendors. 5% - Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED and one (1) year of experience performing plumbing work. OR High School Diploma or GED and successful completion of a plumber apprenticeship program or a plumber certificate program. OR An equivalent combination of education and/or experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.

Desired Qualifications

A. One (1) year experience working in a commercial, industrial, or higher education facility. B. One (1) year experience operating, maintaining, installing and repairing electric and/or gas fired boilers. C. One (1) year experience working with a work order system. D. One (1) year experience reviewing plans/specifications and vendor estimates. E. Journey-level card/experience

Special Working Conditions

Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving: regulations/admin-regs/section-4/4-14 May be required to work at multiple sites or locations. May be required to lift or carry up to 50lbs. Climbing stairs and/or ladders to reach assigned areas along with working at heights. Work outdoors in a variety of temperatures and environmental conditions Work is performed in both the field and in an indoor office environment with frequent exposure to atmospheric conditions (such as fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, etc.).
