We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual to perform a wide variety of public assistance, cashiering, accounting, and clerical duties. The ideal candidate will be responsible for receiving and documenting payments, utilizing various methods and equipment for payment processing, and managing incoming telephone communications in a professional and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:Cashiering & Payment Processing
- Receive, verify, and document payments from the public.
- Accurately record transactions using designated systems and equipment.
- Issue receipts and maintain daily cash balances.
Payment Methods & Equipment
- Operate and maintain payment processing equipment (e.g., POS systems, check scanners).
- Understand and apply various payment methods including cash, checks, credit/debit cards, and electronic transfers.
- Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and escalate as needed.
Telephone Communication
- Answer and route incoming calls promptly and courteously.
- Provide general information and assistance to callers.
- Maintain logs of calls and follow-up actions.
Clerical & Administrative Support
- Perform data entry, filing, and document management.
- Assist with preparing reports and reconciling accounts.
- Support other administrative tasks as assigned.
Preferred Candidate Ranking:
- Cashiering Experience - Proven ability to receive and document payments accurately and efficiently.
- Technical Knowledge - Familiarity with methods and equipment used in payment processing.
- Communication Skills - Strong ability to manage incoming telephone communications with professionalism and clarity.
Additional Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in accounting or office administration is a plus.
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar role preferred.
- Background in retail or banking is strongly preferred , due to the transferable skills in customer service, payment handling, and transaction accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payment processing systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities.
