Position Highlights
The College of Veterinary Medicine, with the University of Arizona, seeks a Grant and Contract Administrator. The Grant and Contract Administrator I position will provide post award support for the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) research faculty. This person will serve as fiscal officer on grant accounts, approve transactions, reconcile accounts, and work closely with Principle Investigators and Sponsored Projects Services to manage awards. As part of the CVM Business Services team, this position will also support financial transaction processing and approvals, internal controls, and UA Foundation financial management. Duties & Responsibilities Collects, and interprets financial information, and develops projections and forecasts project changes to aid CVM Principle Investigators with Sponsored Projects activities. Meet with CVM Principle Investigators on a regular basis and prepare monthly financial reports and/or ad hoc projections as necessary to assist with overall portfolio of research projects. Serves as the primary point of contact for CVM post award. This position works closely with CVM pre-award personnel to coordinate with external departments, central administration, and college administration to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve routine sponsored project funding issues. Development and implementation of reports and tools to monitor college and sponsored accounts for budgeting, forecasting, and other functionality. Continually seek areas of improvement and make recommendations to streamline workflow. This position is expected to proactively pursue professional development opportunities to enhance their skillset and increase efficiency for the college. Prepare and approve financial transactions for sponsored project and college accounts, including PCard approvals, purchase requisitions, disbursement vouchers, interdepartmental billing forms, expense reimbursements, salary expense transfers, funding distributions, and general error corrections as necessary to ensure that the appropriate accounts and object codes are used. Under the direction of senior business office staff, performs detailed accounting assignments as assigned and assist in the completion of annual and bi-annual reports for external entities such as the CVM Self Study Report. Additional duties may be assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team environment. Demonstrated ability and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Ability to communicate complex financial information to audiences with varied knowledge. Demonstrated success accurately managing detailed information, while understanding the overarching organizational goals. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required. One year of relevant work experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with University systems such as UAccess Financials, Research, Employee, and Analytics. Experience working with sponsored grants and contracts.
