Junior Development Project Manager

Position Summary

The Development Junior Project Manager will assist Senior Project Managers in overseeing all phases of commercial land development, with a primary focus on retail projects. This is a hands-on role involving coordination with consultants, contractors, municipalities, tenants, and internal teams from site evaluation through construction and project close-out .

Key Responsibilities

Due Diligence & Site Evaluation

• Assist in preparing development budgets and tracking costs.
• Support initial site planning to align with tenant requirements and municipal regulations.
• Coordinate due diligence activities and identify potential development constraints.

Consultant & Contractor Management

• Assist in the selection, bidding, and contracting of consultants and contractors.
• Help manage consultant and contractor performance and documentation (contracts, pay apps, lien waivers, insurance, etc.).

Planning, Design & Permitting

• Collaborate on development of architectural and engineering plans in a cost-effective manner.
• Assist in managing the permitting and approval process in coordination with consultants and municipalities.

Construction Oversight & Tenant Coordination

• Support the construction process through contractor oversight and site visits.
• Ensure smooth project turnover and delivery to tenants.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in civil engineering, land development, or construction project management (Florida market experience preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Familiarity with entitlements, permitting , and the construction lifecycle.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); AutoCAD knowledge is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
• Must reside in or near the West Palm Beach area.
