Our client is a leading Developer/General Contractor in New York City with a strong pipeline of ground-up projects across commercial, residential, and mixed-use sectors. Known for delivering high-profile builds that shape the city skyline, they are seeking an Assistant Project Manager who is eager to grow into a Project Manager role in the near future.

Position Summary


The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to ensure successful execution of ground-up construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role offers hands-on experience with large-scale, complex builds and a clear pathway for career advancement.

Key Responsibilities


  • Support the Project Manager in overseeing all phases of construction projects.

  • Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure design intent, code compliance, and project deliverables.

  • Assist in managing project schedules, budgets, and cost tracking.

  • Review submittals, RFIs, and change orders.

  • Participate in subcontractor buyouts and contract administration.

  • Support the management of site logistics, safety, and quality control.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, meeting minutes, and reporting.

  • Assist in client communications and ensure expectations are met.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.

  • 2-5 years of relevant construction experience (GC or Developer preferred).

  • Experience with ground-up projects strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency in construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.).

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Driven, detail-oriented, and eager to learn with a long-term growth mindset.
