Come join the fast-growing Electrical business class in the Building Engineering Services business group (BES) at HDR. BES provides industry-leading electrical, mechanical, plumbing, site civil, structural, control systems, fire & life safety, and lighting design services for a wide variety of buildings, including public, municipal, private, and government projects. Projects are a mix of local and regional work. With a team of experienced staff in sectors such as Water/Wastewater, Data Centers, Healthcare, and Industrial facilities, we deliver engineering excellence to our clients.
In the role of Lighting Designer, you'll:
- Work under the guidance of a senior designer and collaborate with architectural project teams on all aspects of lighting design.
- Take responsibility for project lighting documentation, CAD/model production, presentation materials and renderings, lighting calculations, energy and economic assessments, and building certification credits.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Intern Lighting Certified (LC) through the NCQLP.
- Master's degree in Architectural Lighting or Architectural Engineering with a focus on Lighting Design.
- At least 1 year of experience or internship with a lighting design, architectural/engineering, or consulting firm producing architectural lighting documentation.
- Experience with Healthcare, Science & Technology, Federal, or Entertainment facilities is preferred.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering or related field, specializing in Lighting Design.
- Proficiency with AGI32, eLumTools, Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
