Therapy Services Consultant

The Regional Consultant of Therapy Services leads and supports in-house Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) rehabilitation programs across Washington and Oregon. This role is responsible for mentoring Facility Rehab Directors, ensuring compliance with Medicare guidelines, and overseeing the integration of new programs and procedures based on regulatory changes.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Facility Oversight: Conduct regular facility visits to assess operations, program effectiveness, and provide operational support as needed.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Mentor Directors of Rehabilitation and therapy staff to optimize patient care, treatment options, and overall performance.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to Medicare guidelines by reviewing Net Health and Point Right systems; ensure compliance through audits and reviews.
- Program Implementation: Lead the implementation of new programs and procedures in response to regulatory changes and evolving industry standards.
- KPI Achievement: Assist Facility Rehab Directors in meeting or exceeding therapy KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to ensure optimal program performance.
- Collaboration: Actively participate in CSR and Triple Check meetings to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Survey Assistance: Support facilities in preparing for mock and state surveys, ensuring readiness and compliance.
- Administrator Support: Partner with administrators to drive results, support clinical programs, and contribute to strategic planning.
- Audit Participation: Complete audits as directed by the QA and Compliance Audit Director to maintain quality and regulatory standards.
- Best Practices Reinforcement: Promote standardized practices across the region and monitor performance to ensure consistency.
- Inter-Regional Coordination: Interface with regional personnel to foster best practice standardization across all facilities.
- Program Innovation: Identify and propose new therapy programs (e.g., wound care, specialized therapies) to meet facility needs and improve patient outcomes.
- Compliance Support: Provide support for facilities navigating probes, CERTs, ADRs, and ALJs, ensuring thorough documentation and follow-through.
- Clinical Training: Deliver ongoing clinical instruction to therapy staff and conduct in-service education on new treatments or regulatory updates.
- Performance Management: Monitor and address performance issues with PIPs (Performance Improvement Plans) and POCs (Plans of Correction) as needed.
- Business Development: Identify and cultivate new business opportunities, fostering relationships with potential referral sources and key stakeholders.
- Travel & Availability: Travel (by car/plane) to facilities as needed to maintain oversight and support program management.
- Confidentiality & Professionalism: Uphold patient confidentiality and ensure adherence to organizational confidentiality policies.
- Team Building: Foster a positive and collaborative environment among coworkers, aligning with the company’s mission and values.
