Overview Corporate Recruiter at Alliant Insurance Services is hiring an Associate Counsel for the P&C Division. This role involves advising corporate departments, drafting and negotiating contracts, and supporting general corporate and compliance matters. This is a hybrid role with 2 days in office and 3 days remote. Office locations: Chicago, IL or San Diego, CA.

Review, draft, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of contracts, including employment agreements, equity documents, independent contractor agreements, vendor agreements, client agreements, collaborative agreements, and confidentiality agreements. Partner with multi-functional transactional teams (corporate and business development, accounting, sales, HR) to develop policies, processes, procedures, and ensure legal compliance. Provide guidance on legal matters; anticipate, mitigate, and advise on potential legal issues across corporate groups, client engagements, and third-party relationships. Advise on privacy laws and related industry standards; coordinate advice with external counsel as needed. Respond to subpoenas and litigation discovery requests with internal and external counsel. Support merger and acquisition activity by collecting, reviewing, and preparing information for due diligence. Review and revise internal legal policies, processes, and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Education / Experience Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school is required. Member in good standing of at least one State Bar or the District of Columbia State Bar is required. Two or more years’ related work experience, including P&C insurance experience, is preferred. Experience in privacy and data protection laws and regulations (including U.S. state and federal consumer protection and privacy laws, GDPR, and other privacy laws) is preferred. Experience in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts is preferred. Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance to non-lawyer stakeholders. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build professional relationships with internal clients and legal colleagues. Effective planning, organizational, and prioritization abilities, including multi-tasking on high-priority projects. Good business judgment and sound decision-making. Contract review, drafting, and negotiation experience is preferred but not required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Employment & Functions
