Litigation Associate
with at least one year of
civil
litigation
experience to join their
Boston, MA
office.
Their ideal candidate has at least one year of experience working on civil litigation matters, preferably in insurance defense or a closely related practice area, at a law firm. Areas of focus may include General Liability and Premises Liability, Medical Malpractice Defense/Long-Term Care Facilities, Products Liability, Professional Liability, Commercial and Business Litigation, Trucking and Vehicular Liability Defense Construction, Employment and more!
Responsibilities
Manage your own caseload from start to finish—drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, managing discovery, conducting legal research, taking and defending fact witness and expert depositions, and preparing for hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and trials.
Work closely with clients, experts and fellow attorneys to develop effective litigation strategies.
Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys to ensure seamless case management.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to the Massachusetts Bar, or sufficient UBE score to be admitted to the jurisdiction, upon hire.
At least one year of civil litigation experience in both Massachusetts state and federal courts.
Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions.
Strong attention to detail and written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to perform legal research and respond to discovery requests.
