Academy Bus is seeking a full-time Heavy Duty Commercial Equipment Mechanic (Class A or B) with hands-on supervisory skills for the PM shift for our Clearwater, FL location. $2500 Sign on bonus.
Shift is 3:00pm - 11:30pm
Class A Pay Range: $28.00-$34.00 per hour
Class B Pay Range: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
Responsibilities: Class B Diesel Bus Mechanic or Class A Diesel Bus Mechanic Repair, troubleshooting and diagnosis of modern tour buses Reconditioning, preventative and routine maintenance Inspections and road tests Warranty and repair documentation Diagnosis, inspection, installation, disassembly and cleaning of components such as: brakes, suspension, tires, bearings, seals, radiators, water pumps, coolant hoses, alternators, regulators, steering components, oil/air filters, door assemblies, controls, seats, belts, electric motors, pneumatic valves, cables, and linkages. Respond to road calls Basic welding/fabrication Class B Mechanics will assist A Level Mechanics with skilled work and train/supervise C Level Mechanics Class A Mechanics will train and supervise Mechanics and Cleaners.
Requirements: Diesel Bus Mechanic (B) 4-7 years of diesel engine maintenance (A) 7+ years of diesel engine maintenance (A) Proficient in the use of diagnostic devices such as: DDEC readers, ATEC readers, SmarTire, schematics, AIC (Freon) recovery and charging equipment Must have supervisory skills and experience Proven ability to use hands tools, power tools, hydraulic jacks, welding equipment, and testing instruments Must have own tools Valid driver's license Basic computer skills CDL License with Passenger and Airbrake endorsement is a plus but not required, willingness to obtain a CDL License is also desirable.
