Chief Engineer . The Chief Engineer will be responsible for leading, supporting, and directing all property engineering and maintenance department operations. Responsibilities include maintaining property appearance, equipment, HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, and electrical systems. This includes physical plant and fixtures to ensure maximum profitability and operational efficiency. The role involves identifying life/safety equipment and procedures and reporting concerns to the General Manager (GM). The Chief Engineer will maintain basic systems operation and complete repairs to building components that influence guest services. Upholding company and brand standards is essential. The role also acts as a trainer and mentor to the team while being an on-property subject matter expert. Responsibilities:

Recruit, train, and manage a team of engineers and technicians, delegating tasks and setting performance goals. Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all hotel systems and equipment to minimize breakdowns and extend asset lifespan. Diagnose and repair issues with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, as well as other building equipment and fixtures. Manage the engineering department's budget, controlling expenses related to maintenance, repairs, and capital projects. Oversee renovations, remodeling projects, and new construction, coordinating with contractors to ensure timely and within-budget completion. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and building codes. Oversee the proper functioning of safety and security systems, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, and surveillance systems. Respond to guest requests and complaints related to maintenance issues to ensure a comfortable stay. Communicate effectively with other hotel departments to address maintenance needs and ensure smooth operations. Qualifications:

Prior experience in a chief, assistant chief, or similar role within the hotel industry. Possess or obtain necessary certifications. Strong knowledge of MEP systems. Strong leadership skills and the ability to train others.
