Senior Manger or Director of Merchandising

to drive its Global Merchandising strategy to meet commercial needs of the global business for RTW, Footwear, and Accessories. The Successful candidate will: Develop, communicate, and drive product strategies that meet or exceed financial goals and customer expectations. Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop and execute the merchandising strategy. Manage global forecasting + Inventory Management – understanding and leveraging revenue opportunities across channels (Wholesale, D2C, Retail). This role reports to the VP of Global Sales and Merchandising. What You’ll Do: Work with global teams to understand needs and growth opportunities related to categories (RTW, Footwear, Accessories) Create + propose Line Plan - define category assortments by analyzing product performance, customer feedback, consumer trend and competitive landscape Set strategic retail targets and collaborate with product development on costing to meet margin goals while also remaining competitive Ensure the global assortment addresses global and regional needs (right time, place and price); identify product opportunities Drive category alignment with calendar to meet key timelines. Continuously seek deep competitor insight and trend prediction of category. Communicate seasonal strategies in a collaborative way to key cross functional team to ensure innovation and financial success as a focus (sales, gross margin, and inventory productivity) Responsible for global purchase plans to meet financial targets and productivity metrics; execute seasonal buys to meet financial targets. Responsible for Global Inventory management – identifying opportunities for liquidation, revenue generation, cross-channel utilization. Understand trade-offs between producing inventory to support selling opportunities + holding costs/later sell off. Ensure product execution meets the design aesthetic as well as commercially acceptable quality standards Manage team’s market preparation including line sheet generation, production change memos, and production walkthroughs Finalize bulk fabric orders, unit orders and style cancellations with Production in collaboration with wholesale and DTC teams Manage the Merchandising archive of best sellers and reference samples Leadership and People Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key Business Units and cross-functional partners Partner with Sales and Retail to solicit qualitative feedback on product, customer, store environments and competition Promote an environment that fosters respect for the ideas of others and supports ongoing collaboration to execute business strategies; measures own success by the team’s success. Leads by example and operates effectively in the face of continuous pressure imposed by the work environment. Provide leadership within the merchandising team by directing, focusing, and motivating team members to keep their efforts on track. Monitor development and performance of direct reports through regular meetings to discuss performance and development compared to goals; maintain a dialogue regarding their needs and concerns to aid in future development and increase retention. Continuously looks to innovate and improve our business and business processes. Own and lead Monthly, Yearly Category + Business reviews Responsible for Quarterly Inventory Management Reporting and provide analysis and recommendations as it relates to mark-down, sell-off, liquidation, revenue opportunities to drive efficient inventory use. Spearhead Core Planning + Buying and managing financial purchases of non-seasonal product What you'll have: Bachelor's degree required Min 5 years of planning, merchandising, buying, or equivalent experience Strong analytical skills Highly skilled in Excel and proficient learner of systems; familiarity with Joor or Nu Order is a plus, as well as Skypad or other related selling tools Experience in growing a brand + working in a start up/entrepreneurial environment Strong passion for product; high taste level; luxury brand experience a plus Curious, highly organized and proactive with a strong attention to detail and accuracy Proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities; exhibit flexibility and adaptability Support a team-oriented, collaborative environment Strong leadership skills and ability to manage Seniority level
