In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical Oko gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.
Kitchen Nutritionist
The Kitchen Nutritionist will support the development of nutritious, balanced, and culturally appropriate meal plans for personnels on a mine site. This role works closely with chefs, catering teams, and health professionals to ensure meals meet dietary needs, energy requirements, and site-specific health standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and analyze menus to ensure they meet nutritional guidelines and dietary requirements
Collaborate with kitchen staff to create meals tailored for specific diets (e., diabetic, heart-healthy, vegetarian, gluten-free).
Ensure food preparation aligns with nutritional standards, ingredient accuracy, and portion control
Provide nutritional labeling and calorie counts where required
Educate kitchen staff on health-conscious cooking methods and ingredient substitutions
Monitor food sourcing 10 promote fresh, whole, and seasonal ingredients
Stay updated on food trends, allergies, and nutritional science to adapt menus accordingly.
Provide consultations for clients or guests with specific dietary needs or restrictions (if
applicable).
Maintain documentation and compliance with health, nutrition, and food safety regulations
Work with the procurement team to source healthy ingredients within budget
Qualifications/Skills and Experience
Bachelors degree in nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field (equivalent)
Experience in food service nutrition, health promotion, or Nutritionist
Strong understanding of dietary needs in physically demanding work environments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with kitchen staff and site personnel
Familiarity with nutritional software and menu analysis tools
Working Conditions
Position based at the OKO Project site.
Work Schedule 14 days on/7 days Off
Transport, accommodations, and meals provided on site.
Compensation Package
1-year contract for the construction period, with the possibility of a permanent position once the mine is in operation.
