Position Summary
The Program Director, a faculty member with an administrative role, manages specific programs, including classroom instruction, program operations, student progression, and collaboration with campus leadership and staff to ensure program viability and high-quality education.
The role involves professional engagement, compliance with accreditation standards, curriculum development, student advisement, and community outreach, all aligned with university policies and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching: Teach approximately 12 classes per academic year, fulfilling instructional duties in line with faculty guidelines.
- Faculty Service/Administration: Manage the PTA program, participate in planning, support university policies, ensure accreditation compliance, maintain equipment, and oversee student outcomes.
- Program Management: Collaborate on scheduling, curriculum, and resource management; develop enrollment strategies; support student success initiatives; participate in campus events.
- Faculty Development: Contribute to campus culture, participate in faculty development, and lead faculty recruitment and training.
Minimum Requirements
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; Master’s degree required with significant clinical and teaching experience.
- At least five years of post-licensure experience, including three years of clinical practice.
- Current licensure as a physical therapist or PTA.
- Experience in teaching, educational methodology, and program administration.
- Online teaching experience is advantageous.
Environmental Conditions
Must be able to travel occasionally for conferences and meetings. The role involves professional communication, media handling, and occasional lifting up to 10 pounds.
