Academic Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon

The Department of Orthopaedics in The MetroHealth System is seeking an additional board eligible/board certified, fellowship-trained general pediatric orthopaedic surgeon. The MetroHealth System is a premier academic medical center affiliated with Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), and one of the three hospital systems that comprise the Case Orthopaedics Residency Program. As a major teaching facility, MetroHealth serves as a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, Level I Adult Trauma Center, and the Burn Center for Northeastern Ohio. MetroHealth manages one of the busiest air transport services in the United States. In addition to being part of the University Hospitals/Case Orthopaedic residency and fellowship programs, the hospital is also integrated with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation orthopaedic surgery residency and several fellowship programs. MetroHealth is one of the 4 core teaching hospitals affiliated with CWRU School of Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Treat a high volume of pediatric trauma cases within a busy Pediatric Orthopedic Division, which is part of the Neuromuscular Skeletal Service Institute.
  • Develop and lead clinical and research programs in pediatric orthopedic conditions, including limb deformity correction, hip diseases, foot and ankle, cerebral palsy, and other neuromuscular conditions.
  • Collaborate with MetroHealth and Rainbow faculty; participate in academic activities related to Case Western Reserve University and affiliated residency/fellowship programs.

Qualifications

  • Board eligible or board certified in pediatric orthopaedic surgery.
  • Fellowship trained in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery; completion or near completion of fellowship preferred.
  • Interest in academic career and excellence in clinical care; opportunity to develop and lead clinical and research initiatives in subspecialty areas.
  • Faculty appointment at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine commensurate with experience.
