Description

The Renaissance School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology, is recruiting a full time academic Neuro-Ophthalmologist. Candidates should want to participate in the department\'s threefold mission: 1) To provide superb inpatient and outpatient clinical services; 2) To educate residents, medical students, and other health care professionals; 3) To perform scholarly activity such as basic, clinical or translational research. Candidates must have successfully completed a fellowship in Neuro-Ophthalmology and be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Ophthalmology or Neurology.

The Stony Brook Department of Ophthalmology is a diverse, vibrant multi-specialty group with 16 full-time and 5 part-time ophthalmologists covering Pediatric Ophthalmology, Neuro-Ophthalmology, Retina, Oculo-Plastics, Glaucoma, and Cornea/Refractive services. There is also an optometric service. Our fully integrated residency training program has three residents/year. The Neuro-Ophthalmology service shares experienced clerical and administrative support staff including photographers, visual field technicians, and research coordinators. Our outpatient ophthalmology clinics have state-of-the-art technologies including the latest Humphrey Visual Field machines, OCTs, angiography and fundus photography. Neuro-Ophthalmology clinics have 20-foot exam lanes. The outpatient clinic in Commack also houses the Center for Ocular Therapeutics, a facility developed to advance translational research programs. Our Southampton office is in the heart of Southampton, New York, surrounded by a beautiful town and beaches.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Board Certified/Eligible within 3 years. Fellowship trained in Neuro-Ophthalmology or Neurology.

Preferred Qualifications:

NYS license. Research and teaching experience. Additional years of experience.
