As an Entry Level Structural Engineer at DLR Group you will participate in the design process of structural building systems from schematics through construction administration, prepare detailed structural engineering drawings and perform design calculations. You will work as part of integrated design teams to create buildings that elevate the human experience through design. The successful candidate will
Assist in developing project objectives, goals and documentation policies. Develop structural designs from concept through completion of construction. Prepare engineering design calculations and layouts. Prepare detailed engineering reports and narratives. Coordinate structural design requirements with architecture and other disciplines. Produce construction documents using Revit. Review shop drawings, RFIs and submittals. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree (ABET accredited) in Civil/Structural or Architectural/Structural Engineering. 3+ years of buildings structural engineering experience, including the design of concrete, masonry, steel, and wood materials; gravity and lateral systems. Experience conducting high-seismic building structural design in California or similar regions. Working knowledge of structural analysis software (such as ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, etc.). Goal oriented with strong problem solving, creativity, and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural or Architectural/Structural Engineering. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of California. Experience with BIM (e.g. Autodesk Revit Structural) workflow. Experience and interest in sustainable building design. Experience with design and construction of projects under DSA jurisdiction. Emerging Professional Experience (EPX)
As an Emerging Professional at DLR Group you will be part of the EPX program, which provides diverse perspectives on the needs of a design enterprise and opportunities for growth. The program includes mentorship, work and weekly classes covering onboarding, design culture, marketing and BD, sustainability design technology, communication, and career development.
