EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : Masters Degree required
Two years' experience as School Librarian
Experience with library automation
Experience in training and/or workshop presentations a plus

Valid Texas Teaching Certificate by the State Board for Educator Certification
Professional Learning Resources Specialist Certification by the State Board of Education
High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.
PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY : Serve as a specialist and resource to school librarians in the areas of library instruction, library programming, reading promotion, collection development, and advocacy/outreach.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assists librarians in designing and implementing instruction that aligns with TEKS, addresses campus needs, promotes critical thinking, guides students to use information efficiently and effectively, promotes the responsible use of information and technology, and engages students to communicate their new knowledge. 2. Designs, facilitates, and delivers professional development with Library Services leadership team that is tailored to the needs of school librarians on effective instructional strategies and the use of library-related resources in collaboration with Library Systems/Technology Coordinator. 3. Schedules campus library visits to gather feedback on library initiatives, foster regular communication, and assist librarians with goal-setting and professional growth. 4. Develops and implements the mentoring program for librarians new to the school library profession or new to North East Independent School District. 5. Supports Library Services in ensuring compliance with state law requirements by assisting in the development of policies and procedures, facilitates library advisory committee responsibilities, reviewing and vetting library materials, and providing training to librarians on legal and procedural standards. 6. Collaborates with Curriculum & Instruction, Technology Services, CCMR, and other district departments to develop partnerships, integrate library resources effectively, support all content areas, and advance district academic goals. 7. Works alongside Library Services staff and librarians to support collection development, ensure state law compliance, and curate lists of titles for the addition to school library collections. 8. Maintains confidentiality and privacy of information, including all communications and operational details related to Library Services. 9. Reports to work on time every day. 10. Performs supplemental duties and takes on other responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: • Strong proficiency with digital technologies • Skilled in facilitating training and guiding professional learning • Excellent time management skills • Excellent verbal, written, and telephone communications skills • Demonstrates strong collaboration and interpersonal skills • Maintains awareness of and applies current trends, innovations, and best practices in school library services. • Responds effectively to questions and requests from district departments, librarians, teachers, and other NEISD stakeholders. • Skilled in presenting information clearly. • Valid Texas Driver's License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
