Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, guiding them in patient care and development.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized plans of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient’s diagnosis in collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and ensure direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status effectively to all care providers.
• Provide supervision and direction to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to the unit's functioning and participate in team building activities.
• Assume charge responsibilities as needed after orientation.
• Engage in professional growth and continuing education opportunities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
• ICU and critical care experience required.

Schedule

This position is for a night shift with a 3x12.0 schedule.
