We are looking for a Staff Pharmacist to join us on our journey to make it drastically easier for customers to find, choose, afford, and engage with the services, products, and professionals they need to get and stay healthy!
Key job responsibilities
Please note that specific responsibilities may vary by position and location. The following list represents potential duties that may be required:
- Maintain comprehensive customer profiles including current and past medical history, clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medications (including over-the-counter and home remedies)
- Evaluate physician medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and route of administration. Make recommendations for therapy changes to the prescriber as appropriate
- Operate and troubleshoot pharmacy automation systems to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely preparation of prescription orders
- Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and engineering teams to resolve automation issues, optimize workflows, and maintain compliance with quality and safety standards
- Dispense controlled substances and maintain regulatory compliance, including accurate dispensing in accordance with DEA regulations and state laws
- Maintain thorough, timely, and auditable records of all controlled substance transactions, including inventory management, reconciliation, and reporting
Requirements
Provide clinical support by answering clinical questions, collaborating with healthcare team members, documenting all healthcare team communications, and investigating and resolving medication errors.
Additional responsibilities include implementing policies and procedures in accordance with laws, maintaining regulatory documentation, participating in continuous improvement, supporting pharmacy operations, and physical ability to perform warehouse work and lift at least 20 pounds.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacy License in the state of employment (additional licenses may be required)
- Proficiency with basic computer functions and pharmacy systems
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of pharmacy laws and regulations
- Ability to manage high call volume while maintaining quality customer service
