Job Details

Department: Hourly Plant & Mill (Except Maintenance Roles)

Travel: No Travel Required

Shift: Warehouse 7am-7pm; Monday-Thursday; every 6 weeks rotate to 7am-7pm; Wednesday-Saturday

Wage: Starting at $21.63, automatic raises every 3 months your first year, annual raises thereafter. Wage at one year: $24.72

Responsibilities

Safely operates all assigned equipment to move material. Use all equipment and effectively complete all necessary paperwork accurately. Prepare all products for damage-free shipment.

Procedures are well established. Warehouse Supervisor readily available as needed.

Operate forklift and other material handling equipment as required (including charging and maintenance of propane/batteries – performance of daily PM checklist). Operate stretch wrapper safely. Operate the warehouse management system to check manufacturing inventory and locations. Complete manufacturing paperwork documentation procedures for movement of warehouse materials with forklift and be able to complete the forms efficiently and accurately.

Work with other material handlers, production operators, and manufacturing assistants to keep production areas serviced. Assist less experienced material handlers when necessary. Maintain an accurate orderly warehouse inventory by placing manufacturing product in proper places. Work in a safe manner and ensure coworkers also work safely.

Compliance with all manufacturing facility safety and quality policies/procedures including GMPs/Sanitation. Promote orderliness and cleanliness of the work area in support of AIB/5S and other company standards. Support GPI’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values. Support LEAN, 5S, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement programs and processes. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Understand customer production requirements and deliver results to meet or exceed customer expectations. Stop any manufacturing process that does not meet food safety or customer quality requirements. Handle hazardous and other chemical waste in accordance with GPI procedures and training. May include accumulating, marking, containerizing, handling, storing, shipping, and preparing records and shipping papers/manifests for hazardous and non-hazardous wastes to ensure warehouse compliance.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/Equivalent preferred. One to two years’ experience required. Forklift license required, willing to train and certify on-site for candidates without a license. Understanding of inventory required. Previous warehouse, forklift, manufacturing, and/or production experience is preferred but not required.

Physical/Mental Requirements: Occasional physical effort (standing/bending, etc.); exposure to dust, noise, fumes, weather, poor lighting, or heavy machinery/equipment (forklift). Must be willing and able to work overtime. See Physical Demand & Job Analysis for more detailed information.
