Bassett Furniture | Warehouse Manager
The warehouse manager leads the activities for the warehouse in a manner to produce cost-effective in-home deliveries, operational execution, precise inventory controls and support the store associates. The manager will provide a leadership role for: warehouse associates, delivery team, and shop technicians through effective training, coaching, and communication.
Responsibilities
- Hires, trains and supervises warehouse furniture technicians/warehouse associates;
- Conducts performance reviews on all listed associates;
- Upholds Bassett’s values and standards and ensures associates are held to the same standards;
- Implements new programs and practices to assist our stores and customers, as directed by the Regional Manager, Regional Operations Manager and/or Store Manager;
- Oversees daily delivery line to ensure showroom quality furniture is delivered to customers;
- Responsible for receiving, storage, counting, inventory accuracy, movement and security of the inventory;
- Responsible for the security of the building, delivery trucks, and service vehicles;
- Ensures safety and personal protection equipment are maintained and used by all associates as necessary;
- Provides safety training before any associate lifts, loads merchandise, drives or operates company vehicles or equipment;
- Maintains warehouse (interior and exterior), offices, and company vehicles while adhering to safety and efficiency standards;
- Maintains all company vehicles;
- Ability to perform the work of the furniture technician/warehouse associate when necessary;
- Performs other related duties or special projects as assigned.
Experience/Abilities/Skills
- High School diploma or GED
- At least 2 years’ experience in warehouse operations with supervisory responsibilities
Ability To
- Work in an organized and safety-conscious manner
- Work as a team with an enthusiastic attitude
- Effectively communicate with customers, co-workers, and management
- Read, understand and write the English language
- Lift and/or move up to 70 pounds
- Utilize computer programs such as Word and Excel
- Understand technicalities related to warehouse, purchasing, receiving, etc.
- Work accurately with numbers, bar codes, and computer-generated worksheets
- Drive a company vehicle and maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Have physical capability to perform required duties (walking, standing, bending, reaching, etc.)
