Reporting to the Operations Support Manager, The Warehouse Lead is primarily responsible for leading the warehouse with matters relating to inventory management. The Warehouse Lead is an expert in terms of skill and knowledge on all aspects of their warehouse location.
Job Responsibilities
- Knowledge of all job duties relating to warehousing
- Lead matters relating to inventory management and coordinate outbound shipments
- Direct workflow and tasks within the warehouse team as needed
- Be a main point of contact between the warehouse, Truck Drivers and departments across Gehl Food & Beverage
- Enter maintenance work order request that are brought forward by team members
- Act as a liaison between warehouse team and truck drivers or other business partners for any issues as needed
- Assist with internal/external audits, plant tours, and other situations that require a team representative
- Represent Warehouse team on projects, initiatives, or teams formed for Quality, Safety, or other initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to support warehouse functions in a dynamic manufacturing environment
- High School Education, GED, or equivalent
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to use various computer systems, including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Warehouse and Inventory systems, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment
- Experience working in Food & Beverage or other regulated industry with high- quality standards
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principals
