Overview

Acton Medical Associates is seeking a full-time Phlebotomist to join our busy primary care practice. Our lab is on-site in the primary care setting. The phlebotomist will work with a variety of patients to preserve patient health and sample quality.

Salary

Base pay range: $18.00/hr - $20.00/hr. This range is provided by Acton Medical Associates. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Responsibilities

• Draw from patients of all ages (newborn to geriatric)
• Identify and utilize the correct phlebotomy method (venipuncture, skin puncture) appropriate for the patient
• Ensure optimal quality and quantity of samples
• Label samples correctly and send or deliver for processing
• Reassure patients, answer questions, and provide helpful information
• Keep accurate records and adhere to all relevant health and safety standards at all times

Qualifications

• Experience with effective puncture techniques
• Understanding of proper patient identification methods
• Knowledge of legal requirements about drawing blood, handling fluid samples, and use of relevant medical equipment
• Excellent communication skills and dedication to patient care
• Strong attention to detail
• Completion of a certified phlebotomy program
• Certification in Phlebotomy preferred but not required
• Experience with EMR (electronic medical records) programs
