Responsibilities
- Assist in determining the suitability of donors.
- Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction while ensuring donor confidentiality.
- Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions.
- Monitor donors and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality.
- Set up, disconnect, and operate automated plasmapheresis machines.
- Disconnect and dispose of all contaminated disposable equipment.
Qualifications
- Superior customer service standards.
- A High School diploma or GED.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- An interest in making a difference in the world.
- Obtains required state licensures or certifications where applicable.
Occupational Demands
- Work is performed in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids and potential exposure to infectious organisms.
- Exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment; may involve extreme cold in plasma freezer environments.
- Personal protective equipment required (eyewear, garments, gloves, cold-gear).
- Physical requirements: standing 6–8 hours/day, bending/twisting, frequent hand and finger movements, light lifting up to 50 lbs, walking up to 6–8 hours/day, and adequate hearing and vision.
