Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist II to support our client’s medical facility, which is based in Linthicum, MD.

This is a Contract job with a possible extension opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Location: Linthicum, MD

Schedule: Monday-Friday 9 am-5 pm (40hrs/week)

Pay Range: $21- $23.20 (Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.) The rate is based on years of DIRECT EXPERIENCE as listed in the resume

Responsibilities:

  • Perform blood draws using straight needles and/or butterfly needles with proper technique
  • Label, centrifuge, split, freeze, and store specimens according to established procedures and test requirements
  • Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes to ensure accuracy
  • Collect and store specimens (blood, urine, fecal) while ensuring patient comfort and clear communication of procedures
  • Accurately update and verify patient information and test requisitions
  • Record equipment maintenance data and follow decontamination procedures
  • Package specimens securely for transport, maintaining temperature and handling protocols to preserve specimen integrity
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations

Requirements:

  • Valid Phlebotomy Certification for the state of employment (as required)
  • Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols precisely
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required

Knowledge of specimen collection procedures and lab protocols

Familiarity with OSHA and DEP safety standards

Experience Required:

  • 2–4 years of experience in phlebotomy, specimen handling, and laboratory procedures
  • At least 6 months of hands-on venipuncture experience in a clinical or laboratory setting
