Phlebotomist – We Train

Pay scale of $18.81 - $24.04 per hour. This position is eligible to participate in up to 4% of the company bonus pool. Our ideal phlebotomist is patient, reliable, and really commits to keeping our donors comfortable and happy.

Responsibilities

• Assist in determining the suitability of donors.
• You establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while ensuring donor confidentiality.
• You respond to and assist with handling donor reactions.
• Monitors donor and equipment to ensure health of donors and quality of product.
• Sets up, disconnects, and operates the automated plasmapheresis machines.
• Disconnects and disposes of all contaminated disposable equipment.

Occupational Demands

Work is performed in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids and to infectious organisms. Exposure to electrical equipment; potential exposure to extreme cold in plasma freezers. Personal protective equipment is required (protective eyewear, garments, gloves and cold-gear). Work is performed standing for 6 to 8 hours per day with bending and twisting of the neck and waist for 1-2 hours per day. Frequent hand and finger movements, ability to grasp and manipulate objects, and occasional walking up to 6-8 hours per day. Lifting up to 50 lbs with a typical lighter lift of 15 lbs. Visual and auditory requirements apply; ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.

Color perception and near/far vision are required and must be correctable to standard levels. Must be able to listen to and understand information presented through spoken words and sentences and to work under guidance of oral or written instructions.

Relates sensitive information to diverse groups.
