Overview

Phlebotomist role at Central Maine Healthcare — Bridgton Hospital Pathology team. This is a Per Diem position.

$20.50/hr starting hourly rate, increasing with experience.

Other system services include the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute, a regional trauma program, LifeFlight of Maine's southern Maine base, the Central Maine Comprehensive Cancer Center and other high-quality clinical services.

Responsibilities

  • Properly collects and prepares specimens with efficiency and accuracy for subsequent testing to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of results used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
  • The phlebotomist works independently, organizing work to meet established deadlines and accepts direction from supervisory and technical staff.
  • The Phlebotomist is responsible for assisting in the procurement and processing of biological specimens from patients for analysis in the Laboratory and to perform supportive tasks in the maintenance of related records and facilities.

Regulatory Requirements

  • Phlebotomy training or experience required. Phlebotomy Certification is preferred
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS preferred.
  • High School Diploma with a strong background in biology and chemistry.
  • This CMH position must meet the criteria for evaluating vehicle operator suitability. It has been determined that this position requires either the operation of a system or leased vehicle or the use of a personal vehicle for business purposes on a regular basis as an integral part of the job.
