Pride Health is hiring: Phlebotomist in Pikesville

Overview

Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility in Pikesville, MD 21208. This is a 3-month assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Duration: 3 Months+

Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday

Pay rate: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour

Base pay

$19.00/hr - $20.00/hr

Key Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain clearly the process of venipuncture (blood drawing) and/or other specimen collection as required.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all physician orders. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer labels against the script to ensure 100% accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Store specimen samples according to the required temperature and place samples as needed.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of phlebotomy experience is required.
