Primary Responsibilities
- Performs venipuncture following infection control processes
- Maintains knowledge of all routine container and minimum volumes required for specimen collection
- Identifies and labels specimens
- Collects and verifies demographic information
- Updates insurance information as needed
- Verifies eligibility and flags appointment accordingly
- Conducts outreach to patients requiring appointments; contacts patients who "no show"
- Scans and indexes documents into the EHR
- Manages patients according to approved protocols and consistent with appointment and scheduling guidelines
- Carrying out standing orders consistent with practice policies and procedures
- Documents all patient interactions and other clinical activities accurately and in a timely manner in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Schedules tests, treatments and follow-up visits on behalf of patients
- In coordination with Regional Nurse Managers, maintains oversight of temperature monitoring
- Assists care team to ensure smooth office operation and delivery of excellent service through teamwork
- Provides attention to patients in a manner that builds confidence, trust and loyalty
- Demonstrates respect for patients and staff by presenting a friendly, courteous manner at all times and maintaining patient confidentiality
- Maintains open lines of communication with care team and Regional Management
- Maintains knowledge of current coding, OSHA and CLIA regulations and company policies
- Adheres to all patient safety initiatives and infection control regulations
- Performs all other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- National certification or registration as Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist
- 1+ years of phlebotomy experience
- This position requires Tuberculosis screening as well as proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis through lab confirmation of immunity, documented evidence of vaccination, or a doctor's diagnosis of disease
Pay and Benefits
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $27.69 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable
