Be among the first 25 applicants. Hours: Monday–Friday 12:30pm–9:00pm, weekend rotations required.

Responsibilities

  • Technical/Phlebotomy: Perform approved specimen collection procedures, point-of-care testing services and processing. Provide education/information and support to patients and families concerning tests and specimen acquisition. Assist in special projects, evaluations, experiments or research.
  • Customer Service: Act as patient advocate and meet patient/family needs. Provide information concerning patients admitted to, referred to/from, transferred to/from, or discharged from the home unit. Provide emotional support to patients/families as needed. Communicate in a courteous and conscientious manner and promptly attend to requests and concerns.
  • Collaboration: Work cooperatively with others to achieve goals. Develop positive working relationships and share knowledge to support team members. Contribute to and promote a positive and professional work environment.
  • Professional Development: Maintain currency in the field through continuing education and mandatory training. Implement knowledge/skills into one’s own work and the department. May participate in internal/external professional committees and activities.
  • Compliance: Understand and comply with applicable policies, guidelines, regulations, and accreditation standards. Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.

To primarily provide phlebotomy and other lab sample collection in addition to other laboratory support functions in the Clinical Laboratory department of a Medical Center dedicated to the care of infants, children and adolescents.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of Phlebotomy or other relevant Clinical Lab specimen collection experience OR completion of a Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program
  • Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification (preferred)
