Overview

At Avenues Home Care of Tennessee, our caregivers are our front line and most common representative. As an Overnight Caregiver, you will be caring for the elderly, vulnerable, disabled and most often those that cannot care for themselves. You are required to keep the client’s needs above all else and perform the duties with the utmost care. Our office in Knoxville provides caregivers for the area including Shady Valley, Kingsport, Bristol, Greeneville, Elizabethton, Erwin, and many others.

Responsibilities

• Assist the client with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as specified in the client’s plan of care created during intake. Activities may include bathing, dressing, grooming, other personal hygiene, toileting, transferring, eating and continence care.
• Assist with medication assistance, housekeeping services, laundry, meal preparation, feeding, shopping, transportation to and from appointments and companionship.
• Perform other household tasks as specified in the client’s plan of care.
• Report daily activity to the supervisor through the agency management system and daily activity logs. Use other communication avenues as needed (phone, email, agency app, face to face, etc.).

Caregiver Required Knowledge

• Good communication skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written assignments.
• Proficiency with Homecare Company Management System (ClearCare).

Overnight Caregiver Required Skills

• Maintain an established work schedule.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills including tact and diplomacy.
• Effective organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
• Maintain “Fit for Duty” physical condition, a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance and meet the following minimum requirements:
• 18 Years of Age or Older
• CNA License or alternate caregiver experience preferred
• CPR & First Aid Certifications preferred
• Reliable Transportation

Preferred Work Experience

Prior experience assisting with ADLs or caring for elderly, disabled and other vulnerable clients.
