Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  1. Transport clients to and from appointments, intake pickups, discharge drop-offs, etc., ensuring all passengers are compliant, safe, and nonvolatile.
  2. Set priorities in monitoring clients, making house rounds, documenting pertinent information, and completing other assignments.
  3. Work independently with high dependability and little supervision.
  4. Maintain knowledge of and adhere to program philosophy, policies, procedures, 245G requirements, house operations, including Client Bill of Rights and confidentiality.
  5. Assist with intake/admission procedures, orientation of new clients and staff.
  6. Support clients in achieving their goals by acting as a positive role model.
  7. Participate in recreational activities with a positive attitude.
  8. Administer client medications and document accordingly.
  9. Complete clerical tasks such as faxing, copying materials, stocking packets/forms, typing documents, and updating spreadsheets.
  10. Follow infection control standards, including hand washing and linen handling.
  11. Assist with food preparation and household cleaning as needed.
  12. Adhere to attendance and absence policies.
  13. Participate in rotational and off-shift schedules, including holidays.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Registered Nursing Assistant / Trained Medication Aide on Minnesota Registry.
  • Ability to complete a background study successfully.
  • Understanding of Minnesota Statutes sections 245G.01-245G.22, 245A.65, 260E, 626.557, 626.5572; willingness to learn and comply with regulations.
  • Free of chemical use problems for at least one year prior to hire; ability to provide a signed statement attesting to this.
  • Must be at least 18 years old; CPR and First Aid certified or willing to participate in courses provided by NBH.
  • Valid MN driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet research.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including bending, sitting, walking, and lifting at least 30 pounds.

Additional Skills & Experience (Preferred):

  • Experience in human services or healthcare, especially related to chemical dependency treatment and rehabilitation.
