Overview

As a Safe and Secure Overnight Associate, you will be part of the Safe and Secure Team at our facility, ensuring associates, customers, and assets are protected. At our gates, you will be the face of Carvana to our associates, vendors, and visitors. You will ensure proper egress and digress procedures and be proficient in emergency procedures. You will actively support Inventory Control procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and properly document the movement of cars into and out of the Inspection Center entrance and exit gates.
  • Be the face of Carvana to our associates, vendors, and visitors.
  • Lead with effective communication with team, partners, and customers; be an active listener and use clear dialogue.
  • Conduct routine patrols of the Inspection Center and Logistics facility yard and buildings; document security and safety concerns.
  • Become trained and certified in life-saving measures such as first aid, CPR, and AED; provide assistance as needed.
  • Partner with the Safe and Secure Team Lead and Manager on requests for badge creation, CCTV review, and related components.
  • Promote an incident-ready mindset; understand and apply the Incident Response Protocol as needed.
  • De-escalate situations and collaborate with partners and team members, upholding Carvana values.
  • Execute Safe and Secure Principles at entrances/exits; follow processes for facility access and egress.
  • Utilize the Safe and Secure Application (SAS App) and RFID Technology.
  • Deliver a service-first approach in all tasks.
  • Demonstrate Carvana values and contribute to a positive workplace culture.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience within a customer service environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven track record of sound decision-making in a complex environment
  • Ability to relate well with others and establish strong working relationships
  • Ability to organize, plan, and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle conflict situations positively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of CCTV, RFID, Card Access, and other Safe and Secure technology
  • Experience supporting OSHA programs or Safety Teams
  • Experience supporting crisis prevention and/or response plans

Other Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • This job position is designated as a safety-sensitive position
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently; lifting mainly from knee to shoulder height
  • Must be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet
  • Standing for extended periods; environment may be cold, hot, noisy, wet with fumes or odors; may require PPE
  • Frequent driving and computer data entry
  • Regular and predictable attendance required
  • The facility operates 24/7 and gates must be manned at all times
