BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Licensed Veterinary Technicians to work overnight in our busy Emergency department in Olympia, WA.
LVT Pay: $24 - $47 / hour
This pay band is a starting point and depends on experience and advancement through the Kahuna leveling system.
We offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked during nights and weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. For example:
- Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Shift Differential
- Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00 Shift Differential
- Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50 Shift Differential

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:
- Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
- Triage emergency cases, obtain vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
- Perform digital radiography with proper technique and positioning.
- Understand normal ranges of patient vital signs, including heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
- Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting Veterinarian to changes.
- Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
- Calculate medical math, including infusions, and administer medications appropriately.
- Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
- Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
- Mentor and train colleagues.
- Address client concerns with patience and empathy.

Our Continuing Education Plan includes $500/year for CVT and $750/year for VTS, with rollover options. Non-Credentialed paraprofessionals receive a $150 stipend annually. Full-time CVT and VTS associates also receive paid CE hours annually. CE hours can be carried over up to 24 hours.
