Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is hiring: Phlebotomy Technician I in Saras

Under the supervision of the Manager of Preanalytical Laboratory Services and Phlebotomy Supervisors, the Phlebotomist performs routine blood collection on all age groups, including neonates and infants. The role also involves functioning in the Specimen Processing and Receiving area of the Laboratory, providing age-appropriate patient care.

Job Summary

Performs all duties related to Phlebotomy, including blood collection across all age groups, and demonstrates knowledge and skills for specimen processing and reception in the Laboratory, ensuring age-appropriate patient care.

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from a vocational program in phlebotomy or three (3) months of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in computer skills related to patient ID systems and specimen processing.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with patients, staff, and healthcare providers.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Education

• High School Diploma, GED, or Certificate.

Licenses and Certifications

• Valid Driver's License (preferred).
