Overview

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting Phlebotomists to support the VA San Diego Healthcare System located at 3350 La Jolla Village Dr, San Diego, CA 92161. Services will be delivered to all requesting departments throughout the facility on a range of shift schedules. Responsibilities

• Perform proper specimen collection and labeling for routine and special procedures.
• Perform all standard laboratory techniques related to phlebotomy, including patient identification, proper sample collection (volume, tube type, temperature, timing), and collection of specimens for urinalysis, 24-hour urines, toxicology, and microbiology (sputum and urine), according to SOPs.
• Accession specimens in the receiving area and ensure timely transport and distribution to laboratory sections for processing and testing. Contact sectional personnel if unable to deliver samples due to workload peaks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency (e.g., CPT I/II in California).
• Completion of an approved phlebotomy training course or equivalent.
• American Heart Association (AHA) CPR/BLS certification.
• At least 1 year of recent experience (within last 3 years) as a patient service technician/phlebotomist.
• 2-3 years of phlebotomy experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Proficiency in blood collection by venipuncture and capillary techniques across all age groups, urine drug screens, paternity collections, alcohol testing, pediatric blood draws, and difficult draws.
• No sponsorship available.

Pay Range: $17.79 - $32.82 hourly.

Physical and Work Requirements

• Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during shifts.
• Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist.
• Lift up to 20 lbs.
• Carry up to 40 lbs over a reasonable distance.
• Push/pull with 30 lbs of force.
