Overview
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is recruiting Phlebotomists to support VA operations in Palo Alto, Fremont, and Menlo Park. The Phlebotomist performs a wide range of phlebotomy and medical lab assistant duties. Facilities to be supported include:

Responsibilities
- Daily procurement of blood specimens including venipuncture and blood cultures from inpatients and outpatients. This includes positive patient identification, accurate specimen labeling, specimen handling, timely transport to the laboratory, and providing instruction to patients regarding fasting conditions for blood chemistries and anticoagulant therapy for coagulation studies.
- Assist in training and teaching phlebotomy to Medical Technology students and new phlebotomists in venipuncture and related techniques.
- Serve as a resource person for less-experienced phlebotomy staff, answering questions and solving on-the-spot phlebotomy problems.
- Inspect, receive, and maintain phlebotomy supply inventory and ensure that phlebotomy stock rooms are clean and orderly.
- Process specimens for clinical laboratory sections (e.g., Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, Microbiology) including VISTA accessioning, centrifugation, plasma/serum separation, specimen storage, slide preparation, culture setup, and documentation of specimen status and special handling requirements.
- Prepare and stain slides (differentials, Gram stains, reticulocytes).
- Prepare specimens, packaging, and request forms for send-out reference laboratories.
- Build and maintain VISTA phlebotomy collection lists and labels; monitor outpatient and inpatient phlebotomy activity and respond to laboratory test information inquiries.
Qualifications
- Certificate of completion from a phlebotomy vocational program
- Current Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) license in the State of California
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- Minimum of one (1) year of acute care (hospital) phlebotomy experience
- No sponsorship available
Pay Range: $18.75 - $32.14 hourly
All candidates must be able to:
- Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
- Lift up to 20 lbs
- Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
- Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
