Job Description

The Patient Services Representative III-Floater (PSR III) represents the face of our company to patients, assisting with health routines and providing insights into health decisions. The PSR III draws blood samples, prepares specimens for lab testing, and maintains patient trust by explaining procedures clearly and performing procedures safely and accurately. This role demonstrates leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy. Applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, patient service center, or as needed based on business requirements.

Under the supervision of the area manager, perform daily tasks accurately and timely, maintaining a safe and professional environment. Responsibilities include both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing, verifying patient demographic information, and maintaining records. Promote a positive image to patients, clients, and staff.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
  • Adherence to all policies, including dress code, safety, and company principles.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record, if applicable.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations with minimal notice.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Superior customer service and communication skills.
  • Open to change and knowledgeable about our business.

Training and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred; phlebotomy certification preferred in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Two or more years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Experience in customer service in retail or service environments is a plus, along with keyboard/data entry skills.

Additional Details

Applicants must include their home city and commute time on their resume. Compensation is based on direct experience. Reliable transportation is required; public transportation or rideshare services are not considered reliable. Candidates must be punctual, committed to full shifts, and within a 20-25 minute commute to the worksite. Floaters will travel between multiple sites and should have a clean driving record; mileage can be reimbursed.
